He talks a lot,is very agressive and usually has good cards. At times he will tell you hes got 2 pair, or 3 of a kind and sometimes even the suit of the cards but people will usually pay to see, for fear of losing out on a big pot. My question is how should I deal with this type of player? It is a very unusaul style and is intimidating to most. Should I believe this guy because I have never seen him lie about his cards? How should I bet against him? He will bet relativley big with a mid to high pair after the flop. This player wins atleast 50% of the games he plays in because of his unusual and intimidating play. I need Help!

If he tells you what he has and is telling the truth, then the next time he tells you his hand i would fold. so what if he is bluffing. if you think your beat, then fold

I agree, If everytime he's said he had a certain hand, and he's never lied about it. Then he wont lie later on. He's probably not a good enough player to try and be sneaky and buy a pot later on. Sit tight, wait for your good hands. Go after him when you get him.

Luck only takes you so far.

we had a player like this, constantly talking, taking 5 minutes to call a bet PREFLOP and other crazy stuff.

he was our neighbor and we were moving so we team played one night and took his bankroll.

he got what he deserved

he wins 50% of his games...hell sit down next to him when you are out and watch how he plays and watch and learn what he is doing. if he is winning around 50% of his games and you are playing with more then 4 people then he is definetly someone i would want to learn from. He obviously has your frustrated enough to post on a message board about him. So he is clearly doing a great job of flustering you and having a lasting affect on you too....watch and learn

It's confidence, arrogance in a way, but it's all psychology. He gets to people, he shouts about a good hand, and anyone that takes him on realises he wasn't bluffing. This will put fear on any table, and everyone will be wary of any kind of raise from this guy.

Same as usual, play it tight and only play premium hands. You go out to a better hand then it's bad luck, at least it wasn't a bad call out of frustration.
