Kansas has gambling revenue being generated for the state from three forms of wagering / betting: the Kansas Lottery, the pari-mutuel race tracks and charitable bingo. Now the state is considering setting up its own casinos to support the expansion of funding for highways, education and other public services. Already, the plans have been informally approved to introduce slot machines at the state’s pari-mutuel race tracks and to open a state-owned casino in Wyandotte County.
Kansas already has four casinos which were established under tribal-state gaming compacts negotiated in the mid-1990s, and are owned and operated by each of the state’s four resident tribes. They each offer tourists a wide range of games, dining and entertainment facilities, and all except Casino White Cloud are open for 24 hours a day.
The Golden Eagle Casino was established by the Kickapoo Tribe and can be found in Horton, Kansas. The casino’s specialty game is the Let It Ride Bonus, a variation of the popular table game Let It Ride, and based on Five Card Stud poker.
